Hooked On Phonics

We use the Hooked On Phonics program to teach letter recognition and phenomic
awareness.

Emergent Reading:  Books, music play, manipulatives, board games, learning charts,
conversations, and dramatic play help children to develop emergent literacy skills such
as oral language, concepts of print, alphabet knowledge and phenomic awarness.

Sensory Play: Young children learn so much about the world through their senses.
We provide time and an opportunity for even our very young children to  explore a
variety of materials and mediums.

Music Play:  We sing, we use rhythm instruments to make music, and we move to
music.

Art for Young Children:  We use a combination of child-directed as well as
teacher directed art activities.

Outside Play:
We have a large outdoor play area for children to develop their fine
and gross motor skills.  We are outside everyday rain or shine.

Dramatic Play:  We provide puppets, curtains, costumes and a variety of props for
the children to work with.

Infant Sign Language:  We use infant sign language to help babies communicate
their needs
